Hi, hello there! Emily Catherine here! If you don’t know me already, I’m a 25 year-old educator in a small town outside Iowa City. I teach 7th grade Language Arts, so naturally I love all things reading and writing.
I’ve been a fashion connoisseur basically my whole life. Growing up the youngest of 3 girls meant a lot of hand-me-downs! I love all things affordable and versatile. I love “shopping” in my mother’s closet and am often found wearing clothes that don’t belong to me! (thanks mom and sistas!) Living in the midwest means being prepared for all sorts of weather; from the negative, windy, and icy days, to the humid, sunny, and extremely hot days.
I’ve also recently really focused in on my fitness. I’ve joined a infrared sauna “gym” and cut a lot of processed sugars out of my diet (not to say I don’t enjoy a bit of ice cream now and then). I’ve found that the more fit and active I am, the more energy and mentally clear my mind is.
Outside of my teaching job, I am an aunt, sister, daughter, and friend. I have two nieces and a nephew. I’m extremely close with my family and spend so much time with them! I work at a respite camp in Des Moines, IA for individuals with varying abilities, and have worked there for about 6 years. It’s a tough job, but it’s extremely rewarding
I love to read, run, drink an abundance of coffee and organize pretty much anything. I love being center of attention, getting people to laugh, and inspire others to reach their full potential.
